Gold Beach, on the far southwestern Oregon coast, spreads out beside the Pacific Ocean from the banks of the Rogue River. The main part of Gold Beach is a wild and free 2-mile length south of the river. It’s a beach for outsiders, that is, people who thrive out-of-doors to go beachcombing, fishing, riding jet skis or river rafting.  Catch a salmon as it rushes upriver, or zip upstream on a jet boat ride. This walkable town invites you to just hang out on the beach. It’s lovely: think scenic, quiet and so not crowded.
