Isle of Palms beaches are fronted with handsome homes and set behind a low, vegetation-covered dune that leads to a wide, flat beach with gentle wave action. The location of many Charleston commuters, Isle of Palms is chocked with handsome, landscaped homes. The north end of the island is the carefully manicured golf and tennis resort, Wild Dunes, with oceanfront villas and hotel rooms.

Beach access is by rental, either of a private house or local accommodation. A regional beach public park serves the middle of the island at the end of the Isle of Palms Connector.
