Port Aransas is the 8-mile-long gateway to the oceanfront luxury of 18-mile-long Mustang Island. This oceanfront community occupies the northern portion of the otherwise undeveloped barrier island that is north of Padre Island. The island is wide and low; the surf is gentle and fish are plentiful. In fact, many consider this to be the "fishing capital of Texas." It’s also one of the finest bird-watching locations on the Gulf of Mexico
